Quality & Certification
Every claim on this page is something we can show you a record for. If a customer asks for documentation we cannot produce, we say so rather than send a certificate that will not survive a third-party audit.
Incoming material control
Steel coil and wire rod are checked for diameter, surface defects and chemistry against the mill certificate before release to production. Each coil is tagged with a heat number that follows the parts through every subsequent process, so a finished carton can be traced back to the raw material batch it came from.
- Mill test certificate kept on file per heat number
- Diameter and surface checked on arrival
- Chemical composition verified against the standard
- Non-conforming coil segregated and returned
In-process inspection
Operators check the first piece of every production run and then at fixed intervals during the run. Dimensional checks cover head across flats, head height, shank diameter, thread pitch and total length. Deviation triggers a stop and re-set rather than a sorting exercise at the end.
- First-article check at every machine set-up
- Interval sampling through the run
- Head, shank, thread and length measured
- Records kept per machine and per batch
Mechanical testing
Hardness is tested on every heat-treated batch. Tensile and proof load testing is performed for structural and high-strength products, along with wedge tensile testing for bolts and proof load testing for nuts. Where a customer specifies a property class, the test result is what confirms it, not the marking on the head.
- Hardness HRC / HV, per batch
- Tensile and proof load testing
- Wedge tensile test for bolts, proof load for nuts
- Torque and prevailing torque test for lock nuts
Coating and corrosion testing
Coating thickness is measured on plated and galvanized parts, and salt spray testing is run to the duration your market requires — commonly 72, 120, 240 or 500 hours for zinc, and 1,000 hours for Dacromet and hot dip galvanized finishes. Hot dip galvanizing is checked for coating mass in g/m² as well as appearance.
- Coating thickness measurement
- Neutral salt spray test to specified hours
- Hot dip galvanizing coating mass g/m²
- Hydrogen embrittlement relief for high grade plated parts
Third-party inspection support
We welcome SGS, BV, TUV, Intertek or your own inspection agent. We provide the sampling plan, the test equipment and the space to work, and we do not manage the inspector. If a third-party report finds a non-conformity, we fix it and re-test rather than negotiate about it.
- SGS / BV / TUV / Intertek supported
- Buyer's own agent welcome
- Full document set handed over
- Non-conformity corrected and re-tested
Certifications and documents we can supply
Our management system is organised to ISO 9001 principles. Depending on the product and the destination, we can supply mill test certificates, dimensional and hardness reports, salt spray reports, material certificates to EN 10204 3.1 where the mill provides it, certificates of origin, and MSDS for coatings. Certification for lifting hardware is available on request, with the working load limit marked on the product.
- ISO 9001 aligned quality management system
- Mill test certificate EN 10204 3.1 (where available)
- Dimensional, hardness and salt spray reports
- Certificate of origin, MSDS, lifting certificates on request
Certification status and test scope differ between product families and destinations. Please confirm the exact documents required for your market before ordering — we will state clearly what we can and cannot provide.
